Ananda - Elders Happy Home

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, a pan - India organization was established by Dr K M Munshi popularly known as, Kulpatiji, an eminent freedom fighter, a great educationist and an exponent of Indian culture. With a glorious history of more than 80 years, it is enthusiastically engaged in promoting Indian culture, legacy and values.
Amritsar Kendra, is one of the Kendra of this giant organization, who have 118 Kendras for imparting education and lead a social revolution. Amritsar Kendra of Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan had a vision to take care of Elders, who have devoted their entire life to guide their children, to be a better human, so as to make India a better place for coming generation.
Under the guidance of central unit of Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan, the Amritsar unit took the entire responsibility of creating and managing this gigantic task of Implementing this vision and idea of Ananda was actualized.
Bhavans Ananda is an ambitious project of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavans Amritsar Kendra. BHAVANS Ananda as the very name suggests is to provide shelter to those senior citizens who need a meaningful and comfortable stay at this age.
Head office and state officials were contacted to get the necessary approval and a drive to mobilize the resources was launched. The result of years of untiring efforts unmindful of the cost or physical discomforts, is that our dream has come true. The magnificent multi - storey super structure with all the facilities and amenities stands testimony to our commitment to the declared objective of reaching out to Such Silver Citizens.
The uniqueness of this project is that Senior Citizens will get the home like feel with personalized service at their disposal. Over the last more than half a century, our country too is facing the problem of lonely senior citizens who need our special care and consideration. Earlier India was by and large free of this problem due to the solid strength of joint family system. But now with the emergence of nuclear families things have changed. Under these circumstances the elite class who have served the country in their hay days have lived a very comfortable life find themselves in a peculiar situation. They have no financial problem but for one or the other reason are left alone to fend for themselves. They deserve our sympathetic and respectful care to live a tension & stress free life honorably in a serene family like environments.

1. Elders feel uneasy, when they retire, because young generation is spreading its wings throughout the world and elders are left alone with no body to care and talk to them.

2. Sometimes in the family, values system go haywire as everybody gets busy in one's own assignment and even ladies are working so they have no time for elders and elders are left to fend for themselves. Elders feel unhappy and disgusting and get dejected.

3. When the younger family members want to go for long holiday but the elders are not able to take strenuous journey of long duration

How to Reconcile the situation, so as to take care of elders AND meet the aspirations of young generation:-
